This specialized course is tailored for church security teams, providing them with the necessary skills and knowledge to identify potential active shooter threats and effectively engage a shooter when required. The course begins by focusing on situational awareness and recognizing behavioral indicators of a potential threat. Participants will learn to assess their environment, identify warning signs, and anticipate situations before they escalate, utilizing real-world case studies and threat assessment techniques.
In addition to threat identification, the course includes extensive training on the responsible and effective use of firearms in an active shooter scenario. Participants will receive practical firearm training, including proficiency in handgun use, target identification, and accurate shooting under pressure. Emphasis will be placed on maintaining firearm safety and legal considerations, ensuring that team members understand when and how to engage a shooter while minimizing risk to innocent bystanders.
The course also covers critical response tactics such as teamwork, communication, and coordination with law enforcement during a shooting event. Participants will practice tactical response strategies, including moving toward the threat, maintaining cover, and making life-saving decisions in high-stress situations.
